The Queens Hotel is often praised for its elegant atmosphere and convenient location near the beach, sometimes described as just a short 7-minute walk through a field, and near museums and a castle. Many guests enjoyed the spacious rooms, often with sea views or balconies overlooking the Solent and Isle of Wight, plus a large, comfortable bed. The charming restaurant is a highlight for many, though some guests noted that more storage space in the rooms would be welcome.

Really good Stay at a Landmark Building

helpful amenities complimentary water easy transport
I found helpful amenities inside the room. A fridge, complimentary water, toiletries, a shower cap, earplugs, a safe, and biscuits were available. A fan, an ironing board, and an iron were conveniently already in my room. The location worked well. A bus stop sits directly outside providing easy transport from the train station.
I noticed the absence of air conditioning. Opening the windows resulted in considerable noise from the road outside during the night, and then early morning. The bed felt not comfortable. Pillows did not meet the standards.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel features public areas. I observed the reception area, the bar, and the restaurant. Every staff member I met was to be above average. The hotel provided excellent food in the restaurant and bar, so every penny was well spent.
Location
10/10
The hotel location offered walking distance to parks, the beach, shops, and restaurants. Public transport is very close to the hotel. A car park is available. I appreciated the close proximity to many attractions.
Rooms
8/10
The room was clean. The room decor felt nice inside and outside. Special touches in the room enhanced the experience. The hotel offered excellent breakfast in the mornings, so that was enjoyable.
Service
9/10
Staff members demonstrated a helpful attitude. Staff provided explanations concerning nearby attractions. The staff exuded friendliness and competence. I was impressed, and will certainly come again.

Adequate Stay with a Few Downsides

small room bright spotlights
The room I had was quite small. Bright spotlights shone into the room at night. This made it impossible to see outside without closing the curtains. I found that quite annoying
